itD is seeking a Hardware Engineer to drive hardware quality, board-level design validation, and failure analysis initiatives that support the delivery of high-performance networking products. This role plays a critical part in ensuring system reliability and accelerating issue resolution across complex hardware platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in board circuit and system design, troubleshooting, and electrical diagnostics, along with a proven track record of identifying root causes and delivering measurable reliability improvements in production hardware environments.Location: 100% onsite in San Jose, CADuration: 4/27/2026 – 4/27/2027 (1 year)Pay Range: $65 - $73.50 (hourly)We provide comprehensive medical benefits, a 401k plan, paid holidays, and more. Please note that we are only considering direct W2 candidates at this time, as we are unable to offer sponsorship.Responsibilities:• Lead board-level circuit and system-level design validation, troubleshooting, and failure analysis activities.• Analyze hardware failures using advanced electrical diagnostic tools to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions.• Utilize oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, and network traffic generators to validate system performance and integrity.• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and system teams to resolve complex technical issues.• Develop and execute test plans to verify hardware functionality, reliability, and compliance with design specifications.• Document findings, corrective actions, and validation results in detailed technical reports.• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance hardware quality and product robustness.Internal Responsibilities:• Attend regular internal practice community meetings.• Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.• Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).• Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.• Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).• Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.Required Qualifications and Skills:• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.• 6 years of experience in hardware board circuit and system design, troubleshooting, or failure analysis.• Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, and network traffic generators (e.g., Ixia, Spirent).Preferred Qualifications and Skills:• Experience with CPUs/embedded CPUs, FPGAs/PLDs, and control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, and I2C.• Familiarity with Python, PERL, or similar scripting and execution languages.• Experience working within hardware quality or failure analysis teams in complex networking or embedded systems environments.Education:• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field required.Company DescriptionAbout itD: We are part of a new generation of consulting and software development company that blends diversity, innovation, and integrity with real business results.
