BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure and support servers, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless network, backup systems, storage area networks, virtual servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and other associated hardware and
- Manage Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policy.
- Monitor and test network performance and troubleshoot any performance
- Research and recommend changes to the system architecture to accommodate technology upgrades, improve performance, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Assess and define short-term and long-term network capacity
- Maintain, test and update the data backup systems, archiving and the disaster recovery
- Assist in the development and implementation of network and system administration policies and
- Maintain an accurate IT asset
- Monitor, test, and document network hardware configurations, security settings, processes, policy compliance, backup procedures, and other network administrative activities as required by Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Interact and negotiate with vendors and contractors to procure network products and
- Provide support for land line phones and
- Provide end user support as part of a 24x7 help desk, including training and assisting staff in using hardware and software more efficiently.
- Install security patches on all servers
- Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager and/or Senior Director of Technology and Continuous Improvement.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or other technical field or at least 5 years of experience as a Network and System Administrator or related role in the design, implementation, support, and management of complex LAN and server solutions.
- Strong communication and documentation
- Ability to work with all levels of staff to define business and technical requirements as well as to perform system
- Working knowledge of software patch management and update
- The following skills are not necessary but are a plus:
- Certifications: CCNA, Network , Security , Server , VMware Certified Professional,
- Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
