What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at ITC, Inc.?
Our large manufacturing client located in Lafayette, Indiana, is looking for a CNC Programmer, to add to their team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Create new CNC programs, or modify/update existing CNC programs as required for manufacturing
- Provide programming support during part prove-outs. Update program as needed
- Create new or update existing manufacturing process documentation of programmed parts
- Assist with program issues or updates needed on a promptly manner to ensure manufacturing of parts to specification
- Provide programming shop support
- Participate of engineering team meetings, and collaborate as needed
- Provide status updates and documentation as needed
- Work with cross-functional teams, manufacturing engineers, quality engineersoperations leaders on assigned projects or activities
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar field is preferred, but not required
- At least two years of experience as a CNC programmer is required
- Strong knowledge of machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling and tapping is required
- Must be able to read/write programs in G code
- Experience programming in CAM software (i.e. NX, Creo/Pro-E, EdgeCam, etc.) is desired, but not required
- Experience with 3D modeling in CAD software (i.e. NX, Creo/Pro-E, Solidworks, etc.) is desired, but not required
- Understanding of fixture design is desired
- Experience selecting cutting tools is desired
- Must have good blueprint reading skills and experience with GD&T
- Must enjoy working in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer software
