JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for achieving compliance with NERC, regional and other applicable planning requirements. Leads in development of corporate-wide planning policies and practices. Coordinates company efforts at the corporate-wide level with outside entities such as Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO’s), states and regional and national reliability organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages planning compliance program. Achieves compliance with NERC and other applicable planning requirements.
- Develops of practices, policies and procedures for planning functions and applies same. Strives for uniformity of same across operating companies but allows for necessary operating company differences.
- Sets clear guidelines and expectations for area including developing and being accountable for, a yearly workplan.
- Assists company regulatory and financial representatives with technical/engineering consultation. Assist or write various corporate filings with regulatory bodies, including direct testimony as needed.
- Generates and/or oversees the submittal of internal and external reports and data requests on various facets of transmission system planning.
- Actively participates in setting and modification of compliance and other standards or requirements related to planning.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
- Minimum of seven years (7) Planning or Engineering experience.
- Possess sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Ability to create a team environment where employees are motivated to perform at a high level.
- Ability to manage complex interpersonal situations, achieving a win-win result.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with individuals at various levels and technical levels inside and outside the Company.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.

- Ability to travel out of town as business needs require.
