Qualifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work at heights and operate a bucket truck or aerial lift. Strong mechanical and technical skills. Ability to lift, carry and install equipment. Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools and installation practices.
Qualifications Preferred
Experience with low-voltage system installation. Experience installing CCTV, access control or AV systems. Knowledge of network infrastructure related to security and AV systems. Familiarity with cable termination and testing tools.
Job Description
Install CCTV camera systems (indoor and outdoor)
Install electronic access control systems including card readers, door hardware and control panels
Mount and install televisions, digital displays, projectors and AV equipment in classrooms, offices and common areas
Install exterior wireless access points
Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, fiber, coaxial as needed)
Assist with installation of HVAC control wiring
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and installation diagrams
Operate lifts and bucket trucks to perform elevated work safely
Ensure all installations meet institutional guidelines and specifications
Maintain tools, equipment and inventory needed for installations
Work collaboratively with TIS staff for needs of installation
Receive work order requests and complete listed tasks in a timely manner
Report all maintenance needs and damages as soon as possible
Maintains all tools and other equipment that are used in the performance of duties
Maintains required supply and equipment inventories
Make emergency repairs
To advise and assist the Project Coordinator as needed on a day-to-day basis
To assist outside agencies and contractors as needed while performing work for ICC
Be available for overtime if necessary
Assist in setups on campus
Perform other duties as assigned
