What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Support Officer position at Itasca County, MN?
Classification: Grade 9 (Local 580)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (PP/PT)
Position Description: Prepare legal documents to establish, enforce and modify court orders for child support, medical support, child care and out-of-home placement reimbursement for clients; Aide in the location of absent parents, interview mothers and alleged fathers in paternity cases to explain related laws, responsibilities and rights, to secure an adjudication of paternity; Negotiate settlements with the parties, either directly or through the parties attorneys; Testify in court proceedings, present case information with the assistance of the County Attorney or present an agreement or Stipulation in child support court.

WORK HOURS, WORK LOCATION
Work Hours: The normal hours of work shall be 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, overtime as necessary and approved.
