Summary

The Dispensary Associate performs the daily patient service, medical marijuana product advisement and education, and all sales operations of the dispensary. This position is classified as non-exempt. The Dispensary Associate reports to the Assistant General Manager and General Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Trained in all core competencies including Patient Intake, Patient Advisor, Fulfillment and Sales Floor.
  • Patient Intake - Manages the registration and flow of visitors to the dispensary by greeting patients, caregivers and visitors to ensure only approved persons gain access to the facility. Register patients and caregivers into the state mandated electronic tracking system. Prevent diversion of medical marijuana by ensuring that purchased amounts do not exceed patients’ recommended limits. Ensure waiting area and sales floor remain organized and free of clutter. Assist new patients with required paperwork. Monitor all visitor activity to ensure visitors follow Board of Pharmacy mandated SOP’s and use internal communication system to communicate visitor movement throughout dispensary to security and other team members. Ensure check-in area and lobby remain organized and free of clutter.
  • Patient Advisor – answer incoming phone calls, maintain a detailed knowledge of all medical marijuana products to educate and advise patients and caregivers on types, methods, and effectiveness of medical marijuana products.
  • Complete sales transactions with patients and caregivers and follow all cash management policies and ensure all required paperwork is completed properly. Maintain a compliant sales environment through use of point-of-sale software, ensuring filled order matches order placed on menu order platform by reviewing each product with patient.
  • Sales floor – assist patients throughout the dispensary, including connecting patients with education resources, location of order pick-up, ATM, educate patients on product and accessories options.
  • Fulfillment – Complete and fill all orders placed within menu ordering platform and scan into point-of-sale software at point of purchase accordingly to ensure both accuracy of each order as well as dispensary inventory. Answer phone calls from patients regarding product information, order placement/changes/cancellations etc. Ensure fulfillment area remains organized and free of clutter.

Experience

  • Pharmacy tech degree or degree in related field is a plus.
  • Prior Dispensary experience is a plus.
  • Customer service and/or healthcare office experience a plus.
  • 1 years of customer service experience in a retail business.
  • 1 years working in a team-oriented position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated organization and time management.
  • Must demonstrate empathy and a passion for serving patients in need.
  • Ability to problem solve while remaining professional in high-stress situations.
  • Must be friendly and outgoing with a willingness to continue to learn to better serve patient needs.
  • Knowledge of marijuana strains, (indicas, sativas, hybrids), edibles, extracts, and current products on the market.

Requirements

  • Basic math skills required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must demonstrate a proficiency for technology.
  • Must be able to pass state and federal criminal background checks.
  • United States Citizen or authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to successfully complete Foundational Training program.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Extended computer usage.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds.
  • Comfortable being under constant video surveillance.
  • Ability to work up to 10 hours a day and rotating shifts.
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
