Referral and Outreach Coordinator

Position Summary

Help families get connected to mental health care – without working nights. It Takes A Family (ITAF) is a grassroots, community‑based mental health organization. We help children, adults, and families access therapy, groups, and medication management when they need it most. We’re hiring a Referral & Outreach Coordinator to be the friendly, organized point‑person who keeps referrals moving and makes sure no family falls through the cracks. This is a great fit if you’ve worked front desk or in a medical/behavioral health office and you enjoy being on the phone, following up, and keeping things organized. What you’ll do

Referral & intake coordination (about 80%)

• Answer calls and emails from families and referral sources
• Gather and enter referral information accurately
• Route referrals to the right program / clinician
• Track statuses so referrals move from first contact to scheduled intake
• Keep referral logs, paperwork, and basic data up to date

Outreach & relationship support (about 20%)

• Make friendly check‑in calls to referral partners and community organizations
• Share basic information about our programs and availability
• Log outreach activity and follow‑ups so we stay top‑of‑mind

What we’re looking for

• 1 year in a front desk, medical office, behavioral health, or human services admin role
• Comfortable on the phone and following up with people
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Able to manage several referrals at once without dropping balls
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree a plus

• Pay: $17.00–$22.00 per hour (based on experience)
