The Junior Project Controls Analyst supports financial, contractual, and operational oversight of government programs by assisting with project planning, budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting. Working closely with Program Managers, Finance, and Contracts, this role helps ensure projects are executed within budget, meet contractual requirements, and provide accurate financial and performance reporting.

The Junior Project Controls Analyst supports financial, contractual, and operational oversight of government programs by assisting with project planning, budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting. Working closely with Program Managers, Finance, and Contracts, this role helps ensure projects are executed within budget, meet contractual requirements, and provide accurate financial and performance reporting.

Project Controls & Financial Support
- Support s Program Managers with project planning, budgeting, est imate s at com plet ion , and financial performance monitoring .
- Assist s in tracking project costs, labor utilization , funding, and expenditures against established budgets .
- Prepare s recurring financial reports, cost analyses, and project performance metrics .
- Monitor s project burn rates and identif ies potential cost or schedule variances .
- Assist s with revenue forecasting and monthly financial projections .
- Utilize s Deltek Costpoint to review project financial data, labor charges, budgets, and funding .
- Assist s with project setup, modifications, labor category updates, and project maintenance within Costpoint .
- Support s reconciliation of project financial information and validate s data accuracy .
- Generate s standard and ad hoc Costpoint reports for project and executive leadership .
- Monitor s contract funding, ceilings, cl o seout s, and periods of performance .
- Assist s in reviewing contract modifications and ensuring project data aligns with contractual requirements .
- Support s tracking of contract deliverables, labor hours, and funding status .
- Coordinate s with Contracts and Finance to ensure accurate project records .
- Develop s and maintain project dashboards, spreadsheets, and status reports .
- Perform s variance analysis to identify trends and recommend corrective actions .
- Assist s in preparing executive reports and monthly project reviews .
- Support s data collection for financial audits and customer reporting requirements .
- Partner s with Program Managers, Finance, Contracts, Human Resources, and Business Operations to support successful project execution .
- Respond s to requests for project financial information and reporting .
- Assist s with special projects, process improvements, and financial analysis initiatives .
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration , Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) .
- 1–3 years of experience supporting project controls, finance, accounting, or government programs .
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and basic financial analysis .
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
- Experience using Deltek Costpoint highly preferred,
- Experience supporting federal government contracts .
- Familiarity with contract types including Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP), Cost-Plus, and Time-and-Materials (T&M) .
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Excel dashboards, or financial reporting tools .
- Basic understanding of project scheduling or earned value management concepts .
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required .
