POSTED ON 3/8/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/7/2026

This internship will work 32 hours per week, beginning in early June and run 8 weeks through early August. The Intern will work onsite at our corporate headquarters in West Des Moines, IA.
This application will close on March 27th, 2026.

We are seeking two AI Interns to support our organization’s growing use of AI by helping teams learn, experiment, and build practical solutions that streamline work. These roles combine hands-on AI experimentation, MVP development, training support, and crossfunctional collaboration. The interns will work closely with teams across marketing, operations, sales, product, and internal support functions to translate business needs into simple, usable AI-powered workflows and tools.

This internship is ideal for students who want to learn how AI is applied in real business contexts and contribute directly to solutions that help teams work smarter.

Key Responsibilities

AI MVP Development & Workflow Solutions

  • Partner with business teams to identify common tasks that could benefit from AI support or automation.
  • Build lightweight AI prototypes and MVPs using approved tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, internal platforms).
  • Test and refine AI-driven workflows (e.g., content generation, summarization, data extraction, analysis).
  • Document how solutions were built, including prompts, steps, and limitations.
  • Assist teams with onboarding, quality checks, and validating whether MVPs measurably streamline work.

AI Adoption, Training & Enablement

  • Develop role-specific prompt guides and practical examples based on real workflows.
  • Support hands-on training sessions, office hours, and “prompt tuning” sessions.
  • Prepare workshop materials, exercises, checklists, and step by step tutorials.
  • Record and edit micro-learning videos and short how-to demonstrations.
  • Maintain a backlog of training needs gathered across the organization.

Knowledge Sharing & Content Development

  • Support and occasionally lead internal AI training sessions or demos, helping teams learn how to apply prompts, workflows, and MVP solutions in their day-to-day work.
  • Maintain and expand the prompt gallery, ensuring examples areaccurate, current, and easy to reuse.
  • Interview employees to gather success stories and translate them into templates and best practices.
  • Help market, organize, and improve the company’s AI Hub to increase visibility and usefulness.
  • Publish weekly “What to Try This Week” Teams posts highlighting new features, patterns, or tools.

Documentation, Playbooks & Process Support

  • Build and refine AI playbooks, job aids, and workflow guidance.
  • Create templates that support consistent AI usage across teams.
  • Help structure reusable documentation for prompts, workflows, and training materials.

Research, Trend Monitoring & Insights

  • Monitor emerging AI capabilities and summarize relevant trends for internal stakeholders.
  • Support evaluations of new AI applications and identify potential business uses.
  • Gather both qualitative and quantitative examples of impact and time savings.
  • Assist in preparing basic dashboards or adoption summaries.

Governance, Quality, and Responsible AI Support

(Limited ownership; strong support role)

  • Maintain documentation related to AI governance, controls, and responsible-use guidance.
  • Draft “responsible AI” cheat sheets and QC checklists for accuracy and hallucination reduction.
  • Track recurring error patterns and contribute suggestions for safe, reliable usage.
  • Review anonymized prompts and outputs for clarity, quality, and safety (with oversight).
  • Surface emerging risks or issues to program owners when needed.

What This Role Will Not Own

Interns will contribute to these areas but are not responsible for decisions regarding:

  • Tool licensing or access levels
  • Security, compliance, or legal approvals
  • High-risk governance decisions
  • Enterprise-level AI strategy
  • Deep technical model development or engineering

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student studying Business, Marketing, Communications, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong competencies in AI, workflow optimization, and building practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and writing skills; comfortable translating technical concepts into simple guidance.
  • Curiosity, resourcefulness, and willingness to learn new tools quickly.
  • Self-starter interested in real-world business applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Basic familiarity with generative AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) is helpful.
  • Experience with light automation, scripting, or prototyping (optional but beneficial).

What Interns Will Gain

  • Hands-on experience building AI-powered MVPs for real business needs.
  • Exposure to cross-functional work across marketing, sales, operations, and product teams.
  • Training in AI prompt engineering, governance, quality control, and workflow design.
  • Opportunity to shape resources used across the organization.
  • Experience developing communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
