About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Help Desk Technician to join our onsite team in Paramus, NJ. This role will be the first point of contact for technical support requests, providing excellent customer service while troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and cloud-hosted systems. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, experience with enterprise IT systems, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for IT support requests (phone, email, ticketing system).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:
- VMware, Nutanix, and virtual desktop environments.
- Fortinet and Cisco firewalls, VPNs, and networking equipment.
- Veeam backup and recovery solutions.
- Private cloud infrastructure, ransomware prevention, and security tools.
- Monitor, escalate, and resolve incidents in a timely manner using Halo PSA or other ITSM platforms.
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues, solutions, and system changes.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding of users, including account setup, permissions, and access control.
- Support hardware, software, printers, and mobile devices in an enterprise environment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams for complex escalations and project support.
- Stay current with industry best practices, cybersecurity trends, and new technologies.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of IT help desk or technical support experience (MSP or cloud-hosting environment preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with VMware, Nutanix, Fortinet, Cisco, or Veeam strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with PSA systems (Halo, ConnectWise, etc.) a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A , Network , Security , VMware, Cisco CCNA, or similar) a plus.
