Role Overview
As Desktop Support at IT TechPros, you’ll provide hands-on support to keep client IT systems running smoothly. This role is similar to Help Desk but includes more direct client interaction, weekly on-site visits, and oversight of projects. You’ll also address deeper technical issues that require physically interacting with devices or exploring system configurations. Working collaboratively with the team, you’ll build strong client relationships and help ensure a positive experience for every client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site visits to clients, ensuring IT projects and systems are progressing efficiently.
- Respond to service requests (email, phone, remote tools, or on-site) for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating‑system issues (Windows, Office/Microsoft 365, standard productivity software) and resolve or escalate as needed.
- Set up and configure new user workstations; perform user onboarding/offboarding (account setup, permissions, required software).
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of support tickets, solutions, and user environments.
- Communicate clearly with clients — breaking down technical concepts, offering user guidance and support.
