Join our dynamic team as a Dog Daycare Attendant and become a vital part of creating a safe, fun, and enriching environment for our canine guests! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for supervising dogs during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being while providing exceptional pet care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, develop your pet care expertise, and contribute to a lively community dedicated to canine happiness. This position is for daytime hours only. We are looking for someone to work from 6:45am- 12pm Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
- Supervise dogs during play sessions, ensuring safe interactions and preventing conflicts or injuries
- Assist with dog training exercises to promote good behavior and socialization skills
- Handle dog grooming tasks such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming to maintain cleanliness and comfort
- Restrain and manage dogs safely using proper animal restraint techniques during activities or vet visits
- Provide pet sitting services by monitoring dogs’ needs, feeding, administering medication if required, and maintaining clean environments
- Support veterinary technicians or assistants with basic animal care duties, including feeding, cleaning kennels, and observing health conditions
- Engage with pet owners professionally, providing updates on their pets’ activities and addressing any questions or concerns
Skills
- Proven experience in dog handling, training, or pet grooming with a strong understanding of canine behavior
- Background in veterinary assistance or veterinary technician work is highly desirable
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and safe handling practices for various dog breeds
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for moving supplies or assisting with larger dogs
- Experience in kennel management or animal care roles that involve cleaning, feeding, and maintaining hygiene standards
- Strong animal handling skills combined with patience, compassion, and attentiveness to individual pets’ needs
