Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve accounting and finance policies, procedures, and programs.
- Oversee core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Support the preparation of quarterly (Form 10‑Q) and annual (Form 10‑K) SEC filings, including footnote disclosures and Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A).
- Research, evaluate, and implement new accounting standards and pronouncements.
- Provide guidance on complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, software capitalization, business combinations, stock-based compensation, lease accounting, and other technical issues.
- Ensure all financial statements comply with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage intercompany accounting activities, including eliminations and consolidation of multiple entities in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee foreign currency accounting, including remeasurement and translation, and assess foreign exchange impacts on consolidated financial statements.
- Coordinate closely with internal and external auditors by preparing audit schedules, supplying supporting documentation, and responding to audit inquiries promptly.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management and staff on accounting and financial matters.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to finance team members.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, job costing, deal analysis and negotiations, and institutional financing initiatives.
- Partner with FP&A to deliver variance analysis, financial trends, and key operational metrics.
- Play a leadership role in ERP and financial systems initiatives, driving automation and process improvements across finance operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop teams with varying levels of responsibility, promoting professional growth and high performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with Dynamics accounting software preferred.
- Background supporting or working within startup or high-growth environments is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proven ability to learn, administer, and optimize accounting and financial management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data, solve practical problems, and operate effectively in environments with limited standardization.
- Capability to interpret and apply information from written, verbal, graphical, and numerical sources.
- Effective interaction with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels.
- Advanced analytical, calculation, and data interpretation skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-on experience with P&L statements required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to present financial information clearly and respond effectively to questions from executives, managers, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Fluent in English with exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- At least 5 years of people management or supervisory experience.
