Business Process Analyst (Contract)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Process Analyst (BPA) to support strategic transformation and operational improvement initiatives. This contract role will partner with business leaders, project teams, and stakeholders to evaluate current processes, identify improvement opportunities, and help drive successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with practical execution experience and can effectively manage multiple priorities while supporting organizational change and continuous improvement efforts.
What You'll Do
Business Process Analysis & Improvement
- Analyze business processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluate operational performance and recommend solutions that increase efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness.
- Conduct gap analyses and root cause analyses to identify underlying issues and improvement opportunities.
- Develop actionable recommendations related to processes, systems, workforce utilization, and operational practices.
Strategic Initiative Support
- Support the planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and completion of strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, action trackers, and related project documentation.
- Collaborate with sponsors, initiative leads, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on objectives, scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
Process Optimization, Feasibility & Risk Analysis
- Assess proposed process and operational changes prior to implementation.
- Conduct feasibility analyses and risk assessments to support informed decision-making.
- Provide recommendations based on data analysis, stakeholder feedback, operational requirements, and process findings.
- Support continuous improvement efforts through process optimization and performance evaluation.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance tracking tools.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), milestones, risks, and initiative outcomes.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to leaders and stakeholders.
- Translate complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
Change Management
- Support organizational change initiatives through stakeholder engagement, communication, readiness planning, and adoption activities.
- Assist with implementation efforts designed to improve operational effectiveness and sustain long-term results.
- Promote alignment and collaboration across teams during periods of change.
Documentation & Compliance
- Create and maintain process documentation, procedures, reports, recommendations, and implementation materials.
- Ensure assigned work aligns with applicable policies, regulations, and organizational standards.
- Support the development of sustainable processes and documentation practices.
Facilitation & Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and collaborative working sessions.
- Build productive relationships with stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support cross-functional collaboration and issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in business process analysis, process improvement, project management, organizational transformation, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and develop practical solutions.
- Experience conducting process assessments, gap analyses, or operational reviews.
- Ability to develop and maintain dashboards, reports, performance metrics, and data-driven insights.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise-level strategic initiatives or transformation programs.
- Knowledge of business process improvement methodologies such as Agile, Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or similar frameworks.
- Experience in regulated industries, public sector environments, healthcare, finance, or comparable settings.
- Experience creating executive-level reports, dashboards, process maps, operating procedures, or implementation documentation.
- Professional certifications or formal training in project management, business analysis, Lean Six Sigma, change management, or related disciplines.
- Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence and reporting tools.
