Position Title
Quality Assurance Tester – Advanced
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Tester – Advanced is responsible for planning, developing, and executing testing activities to ensure the quality, reliability, and stability of technical solutions. This position designs and performs functional, regression, interface, and user acceptance testing to validate system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
All candidates must successfully complete State-mandated pre-employment checks, including Criminal, Credit, and E-Verify background screenings.
Required Skills
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to:
- Translate business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios (3 years).
- Build test cases and scenarios within test systems (3 years).
- Test IBM Curam software, including hands-on experience with its business processes (2 years).
- Document and support the development of test scenarios/cases and execute testing activities.
- Communicate and publish clear status reports regarding defects, gaps, and issues identified during testing, and articulate findings to development teams.
Preferred Skills
- 5 years of experience working within large enterprise or e-business environments.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare operations—preferably Medicaid—and related business processes.
- Proficiency with the Atlassian tool suite, including JIRA and Confluence.
- Prior experience working within standard SDLC methodologies (Waterfall) and Agile delivery environments.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related discipline.
Note: Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Required Certifications
None required.
Technical or Project Management certifications from recognized organizations are preferred but not mandatory.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will perform, lead, and support a wide range of testing efforts, including:
- Execute tests on technical solutions to identify, isolate, and resolve issues.
- Initiate tests, analyze results, and collaborate with technical teams to recommend solutions.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, QA processes, UAT processes, and detailed test cases.
- Design and support user interface testing applications and regression testing programs.
- Conduct testing of software applications to validate reliability, performance, and stability.
- Implement testing programs including negative testing, usability testing, and validation procedures.
- Lead quality assessments to identify security vulnerabilities, defects, and optimization opportunities.
- Design and/or execute automated test scripts and support test deployment activities.
- Create and maintain quality assurance documentation, reports, and defect logs.
- Follow established software testing governance policies, procedures, and best practices; recommend improvements as needed.
- Maintain databases containing defect data, user feedback, survey results, and enhancement needs.
- Collaborate with product development teams and engineers to recommend performance and efficiency improvements.
- Participate in reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections in accordance with governance standards.
