Enterprise Architect

Position Title: Information Systems Architect – Project Lead (W2 OR 1099)

Pay Rate: $75.00-$90.00//hour

Duration of the Contract: 12 months

Work Location: Role is hybrid (2 days onsite per week)

Candidate location: Candidate must be a CURRENT SC or NC or GA or TN resident. No relocation allowed.

Position Summary:

The Information Systems Architect – Project Lead provides strategic and technical leadership for the design, development, integration, and modernization of enterprise IT systems. The role will oversee architectural decisions, coordinate complex project efforts, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements—including APD (Advance Planning Document) guidance.

The Architect will lead cross-functional teams, provide technical mentorship, and ensure alignment with agency standards, security requirements, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8 years of experience in enterprise software architecture.
• 8 years of experience in IT project leadership, including SDLC oversight.
• Proven leadership ability with strong initiative and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholder groups.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with SCDSS staff, state technical teams, and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with state or federal compliance frameworks (NIST, FISMA, or equivalent).
• Experience with Human Services systems (Child Welfare, SNAP, TANF, or other eligibility/case management systems).
• Understanding of data privacy laws and security considerations (PII, PHI).
• Prior experience working with public-sector agencies or government contract environments.
