Position Summary
We are seeking a Director of Security Services to lead a team of over 170 security professionals, including Security Officers, Dispatchers, and Ambassadors. This position is responsible for system-wide security operations, ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, families, and visitors across all campuses.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise to drive a culture of safety, collaboration, and de-escalation. This role requires exceptional decision-making skills, aligning security initiatives with the organization’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct security operations across multiple campuses, ensuring the safety of all personnel, patients, and visitors.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a security team built on trust, professionalism, and service excellence.
- Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and emergency response protocols in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and law enforcement agencies to enhance security strategies and response plans.
- Monitor and assess security risks, conducting audits and implementing proactive measures to mitigate threats.
- Drive a culture of de-escalation and patient-centred security practices.
- Manage budgets, resource allocation, and operational efficiencies for the security department.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, state regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Required)
- Minimum 7 years of managerial or supervisory experience in security operations (Required)
- Healthcare security experience preferred
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (Required)
- Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) from the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) (Required within 1 year of hire)
- State of California Guard Card (Required within 1 year of hire)
