What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS, Quality & Data Protection Manager position at IT-RE Inc.?
About Us
Headquartered right here in Oklahoma City, IT-RE, Inc. is an industry-leading IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) and electronics lifecycle enterprise. For 16 years, we have partnered with corporate, healthcare, and enterprise clients nationwide to deliver secure data destruction and responsible electronics recycling.
We take immense pride in holding the gold standards of our industry: R2v3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OSHA SHARP. We aren't a sprawling, bureaucratic corporate monolith where your voice is lost in layers of management—we are an established, high-performing team where leadership works directly with the floor, decisions happen fast, and your expertise has an immediate, visible impact every single day.
Why This Role Matters (Job Summary)
If you are an experienced quality, safety, or compliance professional who thrives on operational excellence, ownership, and building a culture of integrity, this is your seat at the table.
As our EHS, Quality & Data Protection Manager, you won't just be maintaining paperwork—you will be the guardian of our certified management systems, the champion of our shop-floor safety culture, and our designated authority for data sanitization integrity. You will work side-by-side with executive leadership, lead our third-party registrar audits, and ensure our technicians operate in an environment that is safe, compliant, and continuously improving.
Whether your background is deeply rooted in R2/electronics disposition or you are an ISO/EHS leader from precision manufacturing or aerospace looking for an agile, stable company to call home, this role offers true autonomy and executive backing.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)1. Integrated Management Systems & Audit Leadership
- Own and champion our certified Integrated Management System covering R2v3, ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety).
- Serve as the lead representative and host for external third-party registrar audits, regulatory visits, and client security assessments.
- Manage downstream vendor due-diligence files, tracking vendor certifications, permits, and downstream mass-balance accounting.
- Facilitate root-cause investigations, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) logs, and lead our annual Management Review process.
2. Data Protection & Chain-of-Custody Integrity
- Serve as our official Data Protection Representative, ensuring that data security, badge access, and secure processing cage controls remain airtight.
- Audit and verify digital media sanitization logs against NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 guidelines (Clear, Purge, and Physical Destruction).
- Reconcile ERP asset-tracking records against physical inventory to ensure zero discrepancies in serialized data-bearing drives.
- Validate hard drive shredding and physical destruction processes, authorizing official Certificates of Data Destruction (COD).
3. Proactive Workplace Safety & Environmental Stewardship
- Drive a "safety-first" culture across our processing facility, upholding our OSHA SHARP recognition and regulatory standards.
- Manage hazardous materials programs, universal waste protocols, and safe battery handling/containment (including lithium-ion storage and thermal runaway procedures).
- Lead the employee Safety Committee, conduct routine warehouse hazard walkthroughs, oversee PPE enforcement, and maintain OSHA 300 logs.
- Direct forklift safety training, emergency action plans, and routine facility checks (fire suppression, eye-wash stations, first aid kits).
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- Experience: 3 years managing EHS, Quality, or formal compliance systems in an industrial, manufacturing, aerospace, or technical processing environment.
- Audit Discipline: Demonstrated experience preparing for, participating in, or leading external ISO/third-party registrar audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, AS9100, or R2).
- Attention to Detail: Deep appreciation for serialized inventory tracking, documented chains of custody, and high-stakes data integrity.
- Floor Presence: A practical, approachable leader who enjoys walking the processing floor, training team members, and collaborating directly with operations leads rather than sitting behind a closed office door all day.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with modern ERP platforms, spreadsheets, and digital document management tools.
Preferred (A Definite Plus):
- Direct familiarity with R2v3 (Core Requirements & Appendix B) or e-Stewards standards.
- Certified ISO Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor credential.
- OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry certification.
What We Offer
- Competitive Base Salary: Commensurate with direct experience, certifications, and audit background.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, and vision coverage, plus paid time off and paid holidays.
- Direct Executive Access: Work directly with the President and operational leadership with zero corporate red tape.
- Work-Life Balance: Consistent, predictable daytime hours (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM) with no weekend shifts.
