What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer position at IT People Corporation?
Assist in redesigning the network containing three main elements: a) datacenter core operations, b) hosted customers – within the datacenter, and c) related labs traffic that flows is managed by the associated network.
Experience in the following:
• Management experience of physical and virtual hardware and software across FLMS and VLMS subnets. Preferred experience in configuring NSX and CISCO firewalls solutions desired.
• The ability to configure CISCO switch (models – Catalyst 3650, 2960, 4500, and Nexxus 9300) plus firewall devices (3130)
• VLAN, S-VLAN, C-VLAN, BGP, OSFP, STP understanding are required
• Knowledge of virtual, hyperconverged and flex systems and network devices desired
• Experience with Linux-based systems, administration, scripting, and automation frameworks – Ubuntu, CentOS, bash, python, Ansible, Terraform, vRealize/vROPS, etc. desired
• Experience with Windows-based systems, administration, scripting, and automation frameworks, including Active Directory management & diagnostics, DNS, and clustering – batch, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Chocolaty, Nuget, etc. desired
• RCA (root cause analysis) skills as to diagnose and recommend course corrections.
• Translate business and functional requirements into documented user stories, technical tasks, diagrams (sequence, use case, etc), and/or documentation.
• Automation development such as the creation/maintenance of scripts that can be used with our orchestration software (OpManager, a ManageEngine product and or Site24x7.com, a zoho product).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and should be comfortable working in geographically dispersed teams
