Title: Automation Engineer (System Owner)

Shift: 3rd shift: 11:00pm – 7:00am
Job Description : Our client is looking for an Automation Manufacturing engineer who comes with experience in Siemens, Allen Bradley, and B&R controls. This contractor will be responsible for working on the lines while working with the maintenance crew to help with supporting high level automation and vision issue that occur during the commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on automation and controls support across multiple newly commissioned packaging lines during manufacturing operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex PLC, automation, and vision system issues directly at the equipment level, minimizing downtime and production impact
- Serve as the senior automation resource for escalated technical issues, working closely with the on-site maintenance crew
- Support fault diagnosis, program review, parameter adjustments, and system recovery across Siemens, Allen Bradley, and B&R platforms
- Partner with engineering, operations, and quality to investigate automation-related deviations, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions
- Support integration and troubleshooting of vision inspection and serialization systems within the packaging environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to drive line performance, reliability, and efficiency
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with GMP, FDA, and site standards, with accurate documentation maintained throughout
Preferred Qualifications
- 10–15 years of hands-on automation and controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment — pharmaceutical, food and beverage, consumer goods, or other regulated or high-volume production environments will all be considered
- Demonstrated proficiency with Siemens, Allen Bradley, and B&R controls platforms across real-world manufacturing applications
- Hands-on experience with industrial automation and packaging machinery in a live production setting
- Experience in or willingness to operate compliantly within a GMP or regulated manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with vision inspection and serialization systems is a strong plus
- Strong floor-level troubleshooting instincts with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues quickly and independently
- Collaborative communicator with the ability to work effectively across maintenance, operations, engineering, and quality teams
- Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
