Role: Synthetic Molecule Pharmaceutics (Contract W2)Location: San Francisco, CA Department Summary:As part of the Client Research and Early Development (gRED) organization, the Synthetic Molecule Pharmaceutics department helps Client’s next generation of therapeutics transition from pre-clinical research into clinical development. Our team specializes in synthetic molecules and novel modalities (e.g., nucleic acids, peptides, conjugates) that are given to patients via parenteral routes of administration (e.g., intravenous, subcutaneous, intrathecal, intravitreal). We develop formulations, innovative drug delivery approaches, and manufacturing processes that help bring these novel therapeutics to patients across therapeutic areas.The Opportunity:We are seeking a collaborative, curious, and motivated contractor to support parenteral formulation development and drug delivery in the Synthetic Molecule Pharmaceutics group at Client. In this role, you will contribute to our research and development efforts for our pipeline programs.The primary responsibilities for this role include:Independently prepare drug product formulations with different compositions to support pre-clinical studies and pharmaceutics work packagesInvestigate and establish drug product processes to make simple and complex dosage forms, including nanoparticle-based formulationsAnalyze formulations with a variety of different analytical techniques to assess physicochemical properties, composition, and structureClearly and contemporaneously document experimental findings in electronic lab notebook and in presentationsReview and process experimental data, identify data trends and takeaways, and propose hypothesis-driven follow-up experimentsCollaborate with internal and external groups to complete key job responsibilities and share results Required Education:Bachelor's Degree (minimum)PhD (preferred) Required Majors:ChemistryBiochemistryPharmaceutical SciencesChemical engineering Required Skills:A minimum of 2 years full-time, hands-on experience in a laboratory or manufacturing based position in academia or industryAbility to independently prepare formulations in a laboratory setting, including but not limited to: weighing and measuring solid and liquid components, pipetting, using common laboratory equipmentUnderstanding and hands-on experience with common analytical techniques used in pharmaceutics, including but not limited to: spectroscopy, rheology, chromatography, light scattering, and physicochemical property measurement techniquesAbility to independently design experiments and interpret dataStrong organizational and planning skillsEffective written and verbal communicationAbility to collaborate in a team settingEnthusiasm for problem-solving and innovation in formulation development Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:Foundational knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences, particularly solutions and colloidsComplements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and PassionPrior hands-on experience with the following topics:Nanoparticle preparation techniquesSterile handling practices Thank youvinaya@itengagements.com
