Greetings from IT Engagements Role: Messaging Engineer (NO H1B/ OPT)Location: Walnut Creek, CA or Sacramento, CA or Dallas, TX Role SummaryThe Messaging Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting enterprise-level messaging infrastructure — particularly Microsoft Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environments — to ensure a secure, high-performance, and highly available messaging system. Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect, monitor, and fine-tune Microsoft Exchange Online and hybrid messaging infrastructure for peak performance. Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Exchange servers in hybrid setups. Ensure email delivery reliability and security throughout the messaging environment. Write/batch PowerShell scripts to automate messaging administration and operational tasks. Lead migrations of on-prem public folders, shared mailboxes, and distribution groups to Exchange Online or Microsoft 365 Groups. Provide advanced support for email and mobile client issues. Work with Application Support and other IT teams to resolve integrated issues. Apply updates and perform patching on messaging servers and services. Develop and manage disaster recovery plans for messaging systems.(Nice-to-have) Support compliance and governance via Microsoft Purview capabilities. Required Skill SetsStrong experience in Microsoft Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environments. Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation of admin tasks. Solid understanding of Active Directory / Azure AD integrations and Microsoft 365 admin responsibilities. Excellent troubleshooting skills related to messaging delivery, routing, and infrastructure support. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and support escalations.
