Hybrid remote ( 2 days in office in Janesville , WI)
QA Lead will oversee and execute quality efforts across a diverse portfolio of Strategic, IT for IT and KTLO initiatives. This role is critical in retaining quality momentum in a challenging environment of older, bespoke systems while aligning with broader quality strategies during the ongoing ERP implementation and digital transformation.
Role and Responsibilities:
- QA Lead will support mix of legacy systems, newer technologies, limited test automation, and challenging environments.
- Lead will collaborate closely with the QA leadership team to align quality efforts and implement modern QA processes, driving improvements across software and delivery practices.
- Retail domain experience is mandatory. i.e.: familiarity with basic retail operations, item management, product catalogs, inventory, and order flows.
- Lead QA efforts across a portfolio of legacy retail systems, primarily custom-built .NET applications with older design frameworks and minimal automated testing.
- Highly technical and hands-on role, expected to work within a Scrum methodology and actively contribute to all sprint ceremonies and activities, ensuring that QA is integrated from the start of each story.
- Provide mentorship and hands-on support to the existing delivery team, guiding them on Quality best practices, troubleshooting complex defects, and performing validation activities.
- Lead and refine QA processes and test strategies, ensuring quality execution across ongoing projects and KTLO activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align QA with ERP quality practices, evaluate process improvements, and modernize QA in a legacy system environment.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 10 years of QA experience, with at least 2 years in a QA Lead role.
- Deep understanding of QA fundamentals and the ability to navigate poor test structures and identify and activate on improvements.
- Strong technical acumen in:
- Legacy .NET frameworks and custom MS application stacks.
- Complex SQL Server querying and data analysis.
- Dynamics 365 Finance and Retail modules are a plus.
- Emerging platforms like Boomi, Snowflake and Azure Data Factory (ADF) (or the aptitude to quickly learn).
- Hands-on experience working in Scrum or hybrid Agile environments, including collaboration with cross-functional teams and participation in sprint ceremonies.
- Excellent communication skills — able to collaborate with developers, BAs, business users, and external vendors, providing guidance and support even in a lean IT environment.
- Bachelors Degree, and 8 Years of related experience required.
- Proven experience in a quality engineering or testing leadership role. Strong understanding of software development methodologies and practices. Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks
The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($65.00-80.00), during the contract period. Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law. A range of medical, dental, retirement and/or other benefits are available after a waiting period.
