Systems Support Specialist

Position Description
We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Systems Support Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with several years of IT support experience who enjoys solving problems in diverse environments and wants to continue building expertise across systems, networks, and cloud services.

Summary of Essential Job Functions
As a Systems Support Specialist, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day support requests, ensuring that desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and core applications run smoothly. You’ll handle more advanced troubleshooting, assist with system administration tasks, and contribute to IT projects, while escalating only the most complex issues to senior engineers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for Windows and macOS environments, both onsite and remotely
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and user issues across desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
  • Administer and support Office 365, Exchange Online, Zoom, Slack, and Okta
  • Perform routine system tasks such as patch management, backups, and endpoint protection
  • Conduct basic network troubleshooting (connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, printers)
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems and support activity
  • Assist with IT initiatives such as system rollouts, MDM deployments, and operating system upgrades
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to implement infrastructure changes and escalations

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in IT support or systems support (MSP or multi-client experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows desktop/server environments, macOS, and Office 365
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls)
  • Hands-on experience supporting collaboration and SaaS tools (Zoom, Slack, G Suite, Okta, etc.)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and MDM/RMM solutions
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently and communicate solutions clearly
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent customer service mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach
