What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at iStaff?
We are seeking a proactive Accountant to take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations and support the continued growth of the organization. This role works closely with the Director of Finance and plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring smooth accounting operations across billing, invoicing, and collections.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who is comfortable managing core accounting functions, communicating with clients, and operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Support month-end close processes and reconciliations
- Oversee billing cycles, client invoicing, and collections
- Process vendor bills and maintain accounts payable accuracy
- Prepare and file sales tax returns
- Communicate directly with clients regarding billing and account inquiries
- Partner closely with the Director of Finance to support financial operations and reporting
Qualifications
- 3 years of accounting experience (senior-level experience preferred)
- Strong background in month-end close processes
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (ConnectWise experience is a plus)
- Confident, professional communicator with client-facing experience
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and a “get it done” mindset
- Ability to work onsite at least 3 days per week (additional onsite time during onboarding preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
- 3% 401(k) match plus profit sharing
- Annual raises typically ranging from 3–5%

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
