What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist Programmer position at IST PRECISION?

IST Precision Inc (www.istprecision.com) is a machine design and manufacturing company established 2001 in North Carolina that focuses in the design of advanced automation equipment, product development and manufacturing. We are a growing company with our own machine shop focused producing prototype parts for our own designs. We are looking for a highly motivated, proficient, detail oriented, machinist looking for a long term career opportunity in a growing high tech company.
CNC Machinist programmer needed. Applicants must have experience in the programming, setup, and operation of CNC milling machines, preferably Haas machines. Experience with manual milling machines (conversational control), lathes, and saws also desirable. This person will work with the current machining staff with to make parts for small production runs.
- 5 year or more experience programming and setting up CNC mills - primarily materials are aluminum and stainless steel
- Must have milling machine experience on a CNC with preference given candidates that know Hass machines.
- Must be able to program using CAM software, preferably MasterCam
- Must be able to independently accomplish a variety of set-ups.
- Must be familiar with feeds/speeds to maximize accuracy, efficiency and quality.
- Must Adhere to Safety Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures
- Experience with tight tolerance parts.
- Must understand blueprints and shop orders and other technical documents.
- Basic understanding of G-code required.
- Must understand tooling selection.
- Basic Understanding of GD&T
- Must have the ability to use technical measuring equipment such as calipers, mic, scales, etc.
- Ability to convert prints dimensions from Metric to Inch or Inch to Metric.
- Experience with CIMCO Editor a plus
- Experience operating conversational Bridgeport type mill.
- Must have ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
- Ensures work area, machine, tooling and parts are cleaned regularly and free from excess oil deposits; maintains a clean work area.
Salary commensurate with experience
