Job description:
Schedule – Sunday through Thursday 6PM START TIME
Essential Job Functions -
Responsible for providing oversight and leadership for the efficient, cost-effective transportation of customer products. As well as coordinating driver schedules, work with Director of Operations regarding driver and asset utilization.
Lead the activities related to dispatching drivers according to customer specifications and routing. Communicate and resolve any on-site delays at shipper and/or receiver
Respond to emergencies and changing situations to guarantee deliveries to customers. Communicate information and instructions to drivers regarding schedule changes, road conditions, emergencies, etc.
Monitor operations to ensure drivers comply with company policies and procedures, safety rules, DOT regulations, HOS, DVIR and electronic logs
Monitor vehicle locations and coordinate service and maintenance with shop manager
Available varying hours for calls to support the needs of our business
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
Experience -
Knowledge of DOT Regulations
3 years of transportation / trucking operations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3 years dispatch / driver management
Proficient in Microsoft Office, familiar with ELD logs and Transportation Management Systems
Excellent customer service, time management and organizational skills
Ability to work in a team environment
