Low Voltage Installation Technician

iSS LLC is looking for a dependable, technically minded Installation Technician to join our growing Knoxville team. This is an immediate, full-time opening for someone who takes pride in doing professional, clean work and wants to build a long-term career in the low-voltage technology industry.

Previous experience with security, audio/video, networking, surveillance, lighting control or home automation is preferred-but not required. We are willing to train the right person who is mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools, eager to learn and reliable. Being comfortable asking questions, accepting guidance and taking responsibilty for your work is also very important.

Our technicians work with a wide range of systems, including security and surveillance, structured wiring, networks and Wi-Fi, A/V, smart-home automation and lighting control. No two projects are the same, and this position offers the opportunity to develop valuable technical skills and advancement as your capabilities grow while working alongside experienced technicians.

What You'll Do

• Install and terminate low-voltage cabling in residentail and commercial enviroments
• Assist with the installation of security systems, cameras, networks, audio-video systems, automation and lighting-control equipment
• Mount televisions, speakers, cameras, keypads, sensors, wireless access points, and related equipment
• Read plans, follow wiring diagrams, label cables, and document completed work
• Test installed systems and help troubleshoot wiring, equipment and connectivity issues
• Maintain clean, organized job sites and protect clients homes and property while working
• Communicate professionally with customers, builders, co-workers and other trades
• Care for company tools, vehicles and project materials
• Follow company procedures and safety requirements

• Able to meet applicable background checks and driving record requirements
• Experience in low-voltage, security, electrical work, construction, HVAC or other skilled trades a plus.

Compensation and benefits

• $21-$30 per hour, based on relevant experience and demonstarted skill
• Full-time position with opportunities for overtime as workload requires
