Key Purpose
The Senior Category Manager is responsible for performing strategic duties for the Procurement Department, which will require knowledge of Category Strategy Development, Relationship Development and Management, Financial Analysis, Budgeting, and Forecasting, Negotiations, Contract Execution and Implementation, and Change Management. The ideal candidate will possess a high attention to detail and follow through, and a comprehensive understanding of procurement process and principles. Routine interaction with vendors, senior ISS managers and leadership is anticipated. This position will report directly to the Guckenheimer Director of Procurement. They will oversee the procurement specialist who manages the day-to-day procurement functions.

What You’ll Do
- Establish and drive the execution of the sourcing strategies for the key categories of spend within a Food Service environment ensuring that the range of services and/or products has been sourced and negotiated to align with the needs of the business
- Create formal supplier and stakeholder relationships and ecosystem that generates innovation and optimize value, demonstrating that ISS Guckenheimer is the partner of choice in the industry
- In line with the sourcing calendar conduct industry deep dive analysis to develop a commercial understanding of the marketplace & provide proactive insight to long term category strategies, including in depth data analysis to support actionable strategies to optimize product and supplier base
- Negotiate and collaborate with supply base to mitigate adverse commercial changes
- Work cross-functionally to manage the implementation process for new contracts or program changes.
- Collaborate with the field to ensure business needs are met while maintaining compliance and meeting financial objectives
- Direct the workflow of the procurement specialist along with driving the growth and development of that role.
- 7 years of category management and procurement experience
- 5 years Strategic Sourcing/Procurement Experience required covering Commercial and Contract Negotiation skills to provide creative best in class procurement solutions
- Experience with commodity tracking and industry benchmarking tools like Urner Barry preferred
- A proven track record of delivering results delivery while being self-motivated and driven
- Ability to extract insights from complex data sets using advanced excel skills
- High attention to detail and exceptional work quality
- Evidence of an ability to work cross-functionally and influence at senior levels
- Good knowledge of budgets and forecasting
- High proficiency level with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills required
- A great attitude - flexibility, optimism, resourcefulness and transparency. Highly collaborative and strong interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree is required - food Industry experience strongly preferred
- Travel could be up to 15% annually
- Requires constant sitting for long periods of time
- Requires ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
- Requires ability to lift/move/carry up to 25 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions
