- Coordinate activities with other internal departments.
- Participate in management team meetings
- Must have (5) five years of experience in a janitorial position with a Facilities Maintenance/Janitorial Services firm
- Must have at least (1) year of previous supervisory experience
- Must be able to provide “hands-on” oversight and direction to the custodial team of up to 5 members per shift
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Must be able to clear/satisfy all background checks and other security requirements for obtaining clearance to the facility at which work is to be performed
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to communicate effectively with subordinates, customer representatives, and upper management
- Must be proficient at performing administrative tasks associated with the direction of the above-referenced workforce, scheduling, and completion of work to be performed
- Must be able to demonstrate good judgment and the ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner
- Previous experience in a union environment preferred
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays if needed
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred)
- Provides direction and oversight of the custodial workforce at the assigned site
- Schedules employees and work to be performed according to site needs
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines
- Direct special cleaning projects
- Communicate with tenants/customers in a professional manner
- Continually inspect quality levels and retrain staff as needed to maintain the quality of service for customers
- Inventory supplies/materials on hand as directed by leadership
- Review and ensure accurate time-keeping records of all employees and process payroll for employees
- Disciplines employees in partnership with leadership
- Other duties as assigned
- Ensures completion of janitorial work and all administrative tasks associated with the performance of the work, including but not limited to progress reports, incident reports, safety reports, staffing reports, time sheet/payroll reports, etc.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to high, precarious places
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
- Outside weather conditions
- Risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
