About the Israeli-American Council (IAC)

The Israeli-American Council (IAC) builds an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens the Israeli and Jewish identity of our next generation, supports the broader American Jewish community, and deepens the bond between the people of the United States and the State of Israel. In New England, we are growing rapidly — expanding programs, engagement, and impact. To continue this momentum, we are seeking a dynamic fundraiser to help power our mission through vision, relationships, and results.

The Opportunity

This is not a typical development role — it’s an opportunity for a rising star to meaningfully impact a crucial fundraising effort. As the NE Development Director, you’ll play a key role in executing fundraising strategies for IAC New England, cultivating partnerships, expanding our donor base, and inspiring investment in programs that strengthen the Israeli-American identity across the region. You’ll collaborate closely with the Regional Director, the IAC New England Council, and the national development team to execute creative fundraising campaigns that fuel our growth and bring our community’s stories to life.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Implementation

  • Design and execute a fundraising plan to meet and exceed regional goals.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
  • Partner with the Regional Director and Council to identify opportunities for engagement.
  • Serve as the New England regional point person for all development initiatives.

Donor Relations & Stewardship

  • Build deep relationships with donors through personalized outreach and ongoing engagement.
  • Manage donor communications (letters, calls, social media, impact reports, events) to keep supporters inspired and informed.
  • Organize donor appreciation and cultivation events that celebrate community impact.
  • Manage CRM systems to track donor data, giving trends, and engagement opportunities

Campaigns & Community Engagement

  • Run local and digital fundraising campaigns, leveraging storytelling, community connections, and online tools.
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities from local foundations and philanthropic partners.
  • Strengthen partnerships between the Israeli-American and broader Jewish communities in NE.
  • Collaborate on marketing and social initiatives to highlight the IAC’s mission and successes.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Partner with the IAC Development team to align regional goals with national strategy.
  • Join staff meetings, training, and events for professional development and team cohesion.
  • Serve as a local ambassador for IAC’s values and programs.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development (Jewish or Israeli sector experience a plus).
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining donor relationships and closing gifts.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills — both written and verbal.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, self-motivated, and goal-driven.
  • Knowledge and passion for both Israeli and American Jewish communities.
  • High proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and social networking tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE or related credential a plus.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for key events.
  • Fluent conversational Hebrew is required; reading and writing proficiency is a plus.
  • Fluent in English - full comprehension, speaking, writing, and reading.

What We Offer

  • A mission-driven environment directly strengthening the Israeli-American community.
  • The opportunity to drive a key strategic initiative for the IAC’s New England growth.
  • Mentorship and collaboration with a national network of development professionals.
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience (full-time role, 40 hours/week).

** Full-time employees working 20 plus hours per week shall be eligible for insurance benefits (medical, dental, vision, & life) following the new hire waiting period.
