Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records by performing regular counts of products within our NY manufacturing location. You will play a critical role in ensuring that stock is accurate and that data collection processes are efficient and effective. The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory management systems, particularly SAP, and possess strong analytical skills to support data-driven decision making.
Duties:
· Perform daily cycle counts of inventory items.
· Compare physical counts to inventory records and investigate discrepancies.
· Identify root causes of inventory variances and recommend corrective actions.
· Enter inventory data into the warehouse management system (SAP).
· Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and locations.
· Work with warehouse, purchasing, and operations teams to resolve issues.
· Support annual physical inventory audits.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
· Report inventory issues, damaged goods, or stock irregularities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)
· Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Basic math and data entry skills.
· Familiarity with inventory systems, WMS, or ERP software.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently.
· Good communication and problem-solving skills.
· Basic computer proficiency (scanners, inventory tools, and Microsoft Excel with emphasis on Excel proficiency)
· Physical ability to frequently reach, lift, pull, stretch, and grasp
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous experience as a cycle counter or inventory specialist.
· Knowledge of barcode scanning systems.
· Previous forklift certification
· Understanding of warehouse processes and logistics operations.
