Job Description
The Program Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of iSPACE's STEM education programs. This position ensures the successful execution of field trips, outreach programs, summer camps, and special events by supporting educators, coordinating logistics, maintaining instructional materials, and serving as an educator when needed.
This is a highly collaborative position that combines educational support, operational management, staff coordination, event planning, and program administration. The Program Operations Coordinator works closely with the Education Director, operations, and other team members to provide exceptional STEM learning experiences while ensuring programs operate efficiently. This position reports to the Operations Manager (Amy Pitzer).
Key Responsibilities:
Program Operations
- Coordinate operational logistics for daily STEM programming by ensuring day-to-day program readiness.
- Prepare program materials, including teacher communication, classroom assignments, and instructional resources.
- Assist with the maintenance and organization of STEM equipment
- Collaborate with the Education Team to ensure programs are fully prepared before delivery.
- Support continuous improvement of program procedures and operational efficiency.
- Assist with keeping storage areas organized and monitor inventory levels to ensure efficient access to program materials.
- Coordinate and support the planning and execution of special initiatives.
STEM Education & Instruction
- Teach or assist with STEM education programs for school field trips, outreach events, camps, and community programs as needed.
- Serve as a substitute educator when staff absences occur to ensure uninterrupted program delivery.
- Assist with accommodations to meet the needs of diverse learners and grade levels.
- Support educators by modeling best practices and providing assistance as needed.
- Provide operational support to educators and observe educational needs. Report needs to the Education Director.
Summer Camp Operations
- Assist in planning and preparing summer camp supplies, staffing, curriculum, and logistics.
- Serve as Camp Director or Assistant Camp Director during camp operations.
- Support camp staff and volunteers throughout the summer season.
Volunteer Coordination
- Work with the Office Manager to recruit, schedule, and communicate with program volunteers.
- Match volunteers with appropriate assignments.
- Provide orientation and support.
- Maintain volunteer records.
- Help recognize and retain volunteers through positive engagement.
Additional Functions:

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
