ISN is seeking an experienced cash specialist to support the Secretary Held HUD loan servicing contract.
The cash specialist is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of loan payments received through the mail and on the web. Duties include:
- Utilizing the loan servicing system to look up borrower accounts
- Prepping checks received for posting, ensuring the loan number and borrower name are listed on the check
- Posting payments and payoffs to the loan servicing system accurately and timely
- Analyze transaction histories to identify discrepancies
- Depositing payments via check scanner and OTCnet, the web-based solution used to convert paper checks to electronic payments
- Balancing daily payments posted on the servicing system to the amount deposited via OTCnet
- Updating the internal check tracking system to indicate what action was taken with each check received
- Processing overpayment refunds
- Processing check requests for lien releases
- Daily tracking and reporting of production activity
- Preparing certificate of indebtedness (COI) packages
- Preparing surplus funds claims packages
- Notary public duties as needed
- Assist with special projects and process improvements
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE
- 1-3 years mortgage experience preferred
- 1 years payment processing experience preferred
- Experience balancing daily transactions and/or cash reconciliation
- Associate's and/or bachelor’s degree a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Will accept a combination of education and experience
