Manager, Access & Flow - (235002)

NOTE: This job applies to a manager responsible to provide clinical and operational leadership to a front-line clinical patient care department or health program that is delivered through multi-disciplinary health care teams in a hospital and/or community-based direct patient/client care setting. The departments are large with the Manager Clinical Services/Program Operations directly supervising at a minimum Nurses at the Level 4 or 5 classification/wage rate.

• Demonstrated skills and abilities in oral and written communication, public speaking, conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation and crisis intervention.
• Demonstrated leadership ability in the context of evolving needs and skills in negotiating creative solutions.
• Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians and management of various portfolios.
• Ability to develop and nurture an environment where quality improvement principles are embraced and used on a continuous basis.
• Commitment to collaborative practice and life long learning.
• Ability to apply relevant provincial legislation such as Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, and contractual agreements.
• Ability to facilitate teamwork and collaboration with diverse groups.
• Ability to balance and adapt to changing priorities and workload pressures.
• Ability to use patient information system programs and operate word processing technology.
• Ability to use software and computer programs to develop quality management reports.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the role.
