What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Customer Service Representative position at Island Wines and Spirits?
Join our team at Island Wine & Spirits in Newport, RI. We are hiring a part-time Cashier / Customer Service Rep. You'll help customers, run the register, keep the store stocked and clean, and make local deliveries. We'll train you.
Pay: $17 - $18 per hour, plus tips on deliveries
Job type: Part-time
Schedule: Flexibility for some nights, weekends and holidays is required.
What you'll do
- Run the register: ring sales, handle cash, credit and debit cards, and check IDs before every sale
- Keep your cash drawer accurate and balance it at the end of each shift
- Greet customers, help them choose products, and learn our wines and spirits so you can make recommendations
- Handle customer questions and complaints politely and professionally
- Stock shelves, move cases and do some cleaning (this is a physical job)
- Make deliveries to customers using your own vehicle (tips on deliveries are yours)
Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license and current registration, and must show proof of insurance. We cannot hire without it.
- Able to lift and move cases up to 50 lbs
- Available for some nights, weekends and holidays
A plus, but not required
- Retail, cashier, bartending or restaurant experience; TIPS or alcohol-service certification; familiarity with point-of-sale systems. Experience is welcome, but we will train the right person.
