Our team is dedicated to providing the highest level of service and craftsmanship in vehicle upfitting, and we are looking for a skilled Upfit Technician to join our team.
Position Summary The Upfit Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and servicing various upfitting components for emergency and specialty vehicles. This includes wiring, lighting, sirens, and other equipment installations necessary for the customization and functionality of vehicles for our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience with automotive electronics and/or vehicle modifications and be committed to maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform custom installations of emergency lighting, sirens, radios, partitions, and other vehicle components.
- Wire and test electronic components to ensure proper function and safety.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems as needed.
- Follow established procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Document work performed, including parts used and time spent, in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and care for all tools and equipment.
- Stay updated with the latest vehicle upfitting technology and best practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred.
- Previous experience with vehicle upfitting, automotive electronics, or a similar field is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring, and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
