What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend Event Cook & Grill Staff position at Island Tastes?
We are looking for reliable, energetic Cook & Grill Staff to join our food-service team for an upcoming special event in Brooksville, Florida on November 7, 2026.
This is a fast-paced event kitchen environment. We need someone who can stay focused during busy periods, work efficiently as part of a team, and handle more than one task when needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Cooking and grilling food during event service
- Preparing and assembling customer orders
- Monitoring food quality and cooking times
- Restocking ingredients and supplies during service
- Keeping the cooking and work area clean and organized
- Following food-safety and sanitation procedures
- Helping with setup, breakdown, and general kitchen duties as needed
- Switching between tasks quickly during busy service periods
What we're looking for:
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable and punctual
- Must be comfortable working around grills, heat, and an active outdoor food-service environment.
- Able to remain on your feet for extended periods
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Cooking, restaurant, catering, grilling, or food-service experience is preferred
- Reliable transportation to the assigned event location unless otherwise arranged
- Weekend availability
College students, culinary students, hospitality students, experienced food-service workers, and applicants looking for occasional weekend/event work are welcome to apply.
We also participate in events in other Florida cities throughout the year. Availability to work additional events that may require travel is preferred but not required.
