Cashier, Stock

We're a local liquor store with high traffic, looking for a reliable, trustworthy individual who has great customer service skills, can operate a cash register, and works well in a high paced environment. Must have reliable transportation and flexibility to work evening shifts, weekends, and holiday rushes.

This is a full-time position

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service & Checkout: Greet customers, assist with product inquiries, scan items, and process transactions (cash and card) accurately using the POS system without register discrepancies.
• Compliance & ID Verification: Strictly verify customer IDs to ensure full compliance with state and local alcohol sales regulations. Must confidently and professionally decline sales to underage individuals, "straw purchasers", or visibly intoxicated patrons.
• Stocking: Help unload deliveries, restock shelves, organize coolers.
• Store Maintenance: Keep the register area, aisles, and stockroom clean, organized, and free of clutter.
• Loss Prevention: Monitor the checkout area and sales floor to minimize shoplifting and maintain store security.
• Closing/Opening Responsibilities: Willingness to reliably open or close the store alone or with minimal supervision, including register drawer reconciliation and locking up the premises.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: At least 3–5 years of continuous experience in retail, customer service, or relevant field with a history of strong attendance and punctuality.
• Maturity & Judgment: Demonstrated ability to manage cash registers accurately, handle high-volume sales, and independently resolve customer issues with composure.
• Alcohol Compliance Expertise: Think critically and stay assertive when enforcing state laws regarding underage sales, fake IDs, and visibly intoxicated patrons.
• Physical Demands: Ability to repeatedly lift, move, and stack 40–50 lb cases of wine and liquor during deliveries and shelf restocking, and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Availability: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
