Seasonal Reservationist – Island Packers
Location: On-site at Island Packers Headquarters, Ventura, CA
Pay: $18.50-19.50
Expected Hours: 20–35 per week

Job Overview:
We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Seasonal Reservationist to join our front office team. This role is ideal for someone with strong computer skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for the Channel Islands—especially if you’ve experienced them firsthand. You’ll be the first point of contact for guests planning trips to the islands and will help ensure a smooth and memorable experience from start to finish.
This is a seasonal position with the possibility of permanent placement. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction
- Answer questions and provide accurate trip information via phone, email, and in-person.
- Greet and assist walk-in customers at the reservation counter.
- Check-in passengers for daily departures.
- Reservation Management
- Handle multi-line phone calls and screen for management when needed.
- Make reservations and send confirmation emails with attention to detail.
- Update trip schedules and assist with customer communications.
- Office Support
- Complete general administrative duties such as printing tickets, maintaining phone recordings, and monitoring inboxes.
- Assist with light cleaning, trash removal, and general upkeep of office space.
- Retail & Collaboration
- Help customers with purchases in the gift shop.
- Work collaboratively with fellow staff members on special projects and daily operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience visiting the Channel Islands or familiarity with Channel Islands National Park.
- Proven customer service and communication skills.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and both Mac and Windows platforms.
- Accurate typing skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts (as late as 8 p.m.).
Position Details:
- Type: Part-time, Temporary, Seasonal
- Schedule: 4–8 hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Compensation: $18.50-19.50 per hour. When you gain more experience, pay will increase. There is a lot to learn.
