Position Summary:
Island Lighting and Power Systems, Inc. is a leader in the design, installation and maintenance of complex electrical systems in the greater New England area. From medium/high voltage work to sports field lighting to solar field projects our personnel, facility, equipment and capabilities are best in class. We are currently seeking a seasoned and experienced electrician to join the team.
Candidate must be a professional and personable leader committed to the overall objective of the company.
Responsibilities may include:
· Installing or repairing a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
· Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
· Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
· Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
· Using a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
· Requires comprehensive trade knowledge of electrical principles and system operations.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position you should possess the following skills, attributes, and abilities:
· Minimum two years experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a focus on commercial work
· Communication skills, capable of effectively working with a team
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Compensation
· Commensurate with experience
· Generally, $40-$50/hour
· Island Lighting and Power does participate in prevailing wage projects
