Position Summary:
Island Lighting & Power Systems, Inc. (ILP) is a leader in the design, installation and maintenance of complex electrical construction projects in the greater New England area. ILP is a family-owned business in its 33rd year of operation. From medium/high voltage electrical work to sports field lighting installation to renewable energy projects our personnel, facility, equipment and capabilities are best in class. We are currently seeking a seasoned and experienced Associate Electrical Project Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities of the Associate Electrical Project Manager may include:
· Work with project manager, clients, architects, engineers, and other internal stakeholders to understand project objectives, scope, and requirements
· Review project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring they align with client expectations and company standards
· Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and resources required for successful project execution
· Serve as a point of contact for clients during the project lifecycle, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly
· Establish a schedule of values for each project and do monthly financial reporting on the project. Including maintaining a Work in progress number that accurately reflects the job
· Possess a working knowledge of construction principles: job costing, change orders, purchase orders, schedule of values, time & materials, AIA progress billing
· Reading, interpreting and understanding blueprints, drawings and project specifications
· Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members are equipped with the necessary resources to carry out their responsibilities efficiently
· Foster a positive work environment that promotes innovation, safety, and quality
· Monitor project expenses, labor costs, and material usage to maintain budget compliance
· Identify potential cost-saving measures and efficient resource allocation without compromising project quality
· Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and opportunities for future work
· Proactively identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays and setbacks
· Maintain project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and other relevant records
· Regularly update senior management on project status, achievements, and challenges
Desired Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) or 3 years of experience on a project management team, handling diverse electrical projects from conception to completion
· Knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and industry standards
· Communication skills, capable of effectively working with a team
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
· PMP certification (preferred but not required)
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment
· Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
· Knowledge of Foundation Construction Software, Quick Books and ADP Workforce Now
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
· Willingness to work 100% in-office or to the Field as needed
Compensation
· Commensurate with experience
· Generally, range of $75,000 - $95,000 annual salary
