What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer/ Sales Associate position at Island Inspiration?
We are seeking a Retail Buyer/Sale Associate to join our Island Inspiration team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for meeting sales goals, purchasing, pricing, and displaying gift shop merchandise. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a keen eye for detail are essential. The associate will also be responsible for processing gift shop inventory, including conducting regular inventory checks, placing orders, pricing, and merchandise.
Retail Sales Associate duties include:
Responsible for handling various sales activities, including facilitating purchases and ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Greeting customers when they walk through the door
- Providing product knowledge on different product lines, delivery timelines, material and fabric selection
- Building rapport through conversation and honest recommendations
- Closing sales and arranging for delivery or pick-up of the customer's order if needed
- Assisting in maintaining the back stock room and setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor
- Collaborating with fellow team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organized at all times
- Well-versed in using point-of-sale systems and is comfortable entering inventory data in creating tags
Key responsibilities include effectively retaining up-to-date knowledge about outdoor furniture product lines, meeting sales goals, and managing gift shop inventory.
