*Overview* We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Referral Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating patient referrals and ensuring seamless transitions between healthcare providers. *Duties* - Manage patient referrals from primary care providers to specialists - Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for referrals - Coordinate appointments and follow-ups for patients - Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records in compliance with HIPAA regulations - Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding referral status - Utilize medical coding knowledge to ensure accurate documentation and billing *Requirements* - Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding - Experience working in a medical office setting with knowledge of medical records management - Familiarity with managed care systems and insurance verification processes - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient delivery of healthcare services while expanding your skills in medical coordination and administration.
