Job Description
- Administers prescribed medications to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of the Director of Resident Care
- Follows the service plan in providing service to the resident
- Answers resident response system to determine resident's needs and responds accordingly
- Assists residents in the activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, mobility and assisting in examinations and treatments
- Assists resident with oxygen and other medical problems as outlined in the service plan
- Monitors health, safety and well-being of the residents
- Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rates and blood sugar checks as outlined in the service plan
- Contacts residents physician to report a change in resident condition
- Safely administers resident medications and access resident responses
- Responds to resident emergencies-provides first aid assistance and arranges for appropriate medical attention and follow up
- Process orders received for residents to maintain supply of medications through pharmacy.
- Supervise unit during shift to include caregivers.
Knowledge and Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience Med Passer
Working Conditions
- Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens, communicable diseases, fumes or airborne particles
- Holiday and weekend work required
