Housekeeping Assistant
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to support our faith-based religious community service organization, mosque, and cultural center. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across indoor and outdoor areas, assisting with event setup and breakdown, and ensuring the premises are welcoming and well-maintained. This role requires a proactive approach to sanitation, floor care, outdoor maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols to support our community’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties using appropriate equipment to maintain cleanliness of indoor spaces, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Ensure sanitation standards are met throughout all areas, including restrooms and communal spaces.
- Conduct floor care activities such as stripping, waxing, and polishing floors as needed.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with safety protocols.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down event spaces, including arranging furniture and equipment.
- Remove snow from walkways during winter months to ensure safe access for visitors.
- Maintain outdoor green areas by mowing lawns, trimming bushes, raking leaves in the fall, and general landscaping upkeep.
- Support the organization’s mission by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for community members.
Requirements
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, walking outdoors, and operating outdoor maintenance tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
- Flexibility to assist with event setup/breakdown and outdoor maintenance tasks as needed.
- Reliable work ethic with a positive attitude toward supporting community services.
- Must already have valid work authorization.
Preferred but not mandatory
- Prior experience in housekeeping or janitorial roles is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and floor care techniques.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
