In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper handling, cleaning, and sanitation of linens, clothing, and other laundry items while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, and process laundry items using appropriate cleaning procedures and equipment.
- Operate commercial laundry machines safely and efficiently, following manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
- Handle chemical agents responsibly, ensuring proper dilution, application, and disposal in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry areas, storage rooms, and related facilities through regular cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Assist with manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of linens or laundry carts while practicing safe lifting techniques.
- Follow all safety protocols related to chemical handling, environmental services, and infection prevention measures.
- Support overall janitorial duties within healthcare settings by maintaining high standards of sanitation and floor care.
- Use cleaning equipment effectively to ensure all surfaces meet sanitation standards while minimizing cross-contamination risks.
- Document laundry processing activities accurately and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in facilities housekeeping, custodial work, or commercial cleaning is highly preferred.
- Ability to operate laundry machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy loads.
- Excellent customer service skills to support staff and visitors when needed in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions regarding sanitation standards and safety protocols.
- Experience with chemical agent handling and sanitation products used in healthcare settings is a plus.

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
