Lab Technician

Provides technical and administrative consulting support for environmental, health, and safety compliance projects for a variety of iSi customers in accordance with applicable regulations.

Position Responsibilities

• Participate in environmental, health, and safety compliance projects including sampling, permitting, auditing, reporting, plan development, inspections, and training
• Develop knowledge of applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations
• Conduct site sampling (wastewater, groundwater, etc.); review and prepare documentation
• Ensure quality of sampling and laboratory data
• Maintain and operate field sampling equipment to include various pumps, meters, microscopes, etc.
• Calibrate field sampling equipment
• Maintain field lab accreditation requirements and ensure iSi field laboratory is maintained appropriately
• Develop tables, charts, and field sampling reports
• Prepare site maps
• Assist with Project Management related tasks such as cost and budget estimation, planning, and scheduling
• Perform environmental site reconnaissance for assessments
• Participate on spill response team as needed
• Analyze asbestos PCM air samples
• Develop knowledge of client facilities and operations
• Provide customer service to a variety of client representatives
• Write reports, letters, and other project documents as directed
• Operate motor vehicles safely and in accordance with applicable regulations
• Provide additional support as needed
• Participate and lead routine internal safety initiatives

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field; or 3 years experience in the environmental, health, and safety field
• Ability to identify potential health and safety risks
• Ability to address issues with management, coworkers, and clients
• Excellent organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills
• Strong computer skills, particularly utilizing Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Efficient time management
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
