Green Trees is the early childhood division within Isidore Newman School, a safe and stimulating environment for young minds to thrive. We offer full-day and half-day programs for children from six weeks to four years old, with summer camp options available in June and July.

Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or a related field such as Educational Psychology or Family Studies.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in a highly rated early childhood education program.
- A reflective practice committed to continuous self-improvement and lifelong learning.
- Cultural competency demonstrating respect for diversity and an orientation toward equity and inclusion.
- Ability to facilitate learning and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Commitment to learn and use technology for teamwork and communication.
- Certification and documentation meeting federal, state, and local requirements for working in an educational childcare setting.
Professional Responsibilities

- Maintain a safe environment and adhere to state licensing guidelines.

Classroom Responsibilities
- Ensure children are safe, well cared for, and supported in their growth.
- Engage fully with children throughout the day.
- Work with your Mentor to design a rich and inclusive classroom environment that reflects the interests and developmental needs of the class.
- Establish routines and rituals that build classroom community throughout the school day and extended care.
- Reflect on observations and documentation to inform curriculum planning.
- Assist with assessments to inform student support and family communications.
Associate Responsibilities
- Learn and apply best practices that reflect the philosophy of Green Trees.
- Maintain respectful relationships with colleagues through clear and effective communication.
- Set goals and reflect on your progress with your Mentor teacher.
- Create a portfolio of your learning and work throughout the year.
- Assume responsibilities of the Mentor Teacher in their absence when necessary.
